THIS DAY THAT YEAR

Whenever we sit flipping the pages of our old photo albums or see old recorded videos of marriages or parties, all we think is that time really flies.Events that occurred years ago seem to have taken place yesterday. We do not realize when we start going to college from school and when our pure black hair change to white and I am no exception to this truth of life.

If I glance at all the memories which are very close to my heart today, the best and  matchless memory is the Jim Corbett trip which I was enjoying today 2 years back. It was one of the best experiences of my life.I went on that trip with my friends and teachers accompanied us.At that time,I was in class 6 and opted for the astronomy club as universe and space had always fascinated me.The name of my team was ATLANTIS .It was from the astronomy club that we went on the trip to see the spectacular and magnificent night sky and study about it.It was a camp for us away from any residences and the location was such that anybody would feel so close to nature. There was not the slightest place for pollution and only scenic beauty to be seen wherever your eye could take you.The sound of the calm waters of the river making its way through stones and pebbles was really soothing to the ears.We stayed in cottages and not in hotels but it was much more  enjoyable. Moreover, the company of my friends was a double dose of fun and enjoyment added to the trip.

It was the perfect location for anyone who wanted to take a break from the busy and unhealthy city life.No horns ,no loud speakers,no pollution and an ideal life in the heart of nature. It gave me and my teammates immense pleasure  to see the clear and peaceful night sky filled with stars(which are hardly visible in my city) while the soothing sound of river filled our ears. Not only did I enjoy myself to the fullest but also became aware of the fact that city life was becoming bad day by day.

Some activities that kept us engaged in Jim Corbett include river crossing, astrophotography , making our own pinhole camera and one activity that I enjoyed the most was making our own hot air balloon . The moment we launched it , all our eyes were glued to the sky wondering whether it will go further or crash but it did not crash and soon went out of sight. It was really a once-in-a-lifetime experience .Now when I look back I still can't digest the fact that two years have gone by.At the end we also had a quiz and we were all on tenterhooks when the results were about to be announced. Our team took back home the silver medal which I still see and cherish the beautiful memories we made there..
