POOR RETURNING HOME RICH RETURNING HOME
Two different images , two different stories.
The ironer used to iron, the milkman used to deliver milk, the stationery shops used to be crowded with people, the baker used to sell the pastries , students used to go to school, adults used to go to offices, the maid used to wash the utensils, the grocers used to sell vegetables and the tailor used to stitch clothes. But The present scenario is completely contrasting and it has all changed.Life seems to have gone completely upside down . All which is to be seen is empty roads and places , the rising covid19 cases graph and the peculiar and horrible situation of migrant labours.

Yes, in these tough times when we are struggling to stay at our home , many people wish that they had one .In our country, where the situation of the poor and labourers is already pathetic and they barely have two square meals a day,all they could expect for was lockdown. We don't have the slightest idea what they're going through today.Their livelihoods have been destroyed, their children crying for food and all this has happened so suddenly that all they can do is join their hands and pray to god for this crisis to get over. And guess what, their only fault is that they're poor and they don't have power . The worse part of their story is that they are living without any self-respect and dignity which is actually worse than dying.
But the bitter truth is that all these things concerned with the difficulties of a labourer are of least importance to the richer section of the society and the media. Within one hour of the death of Actor Irrfan Khan(no doubt he was a legend), we all knew his likes, dislikes, works, career, family and every single thing whereas most of us don't even know the name of the labourer who was cycling back home, took a meal break and was ran over by a car some days ago. Know why? Because not a single mediaperson or TV viewer is bothered to know their condition. And the matter of the fact is that these are the builders of the nation. From Statue of Unity to the best Expressway, labourers are the people who work behind the scenes but are given no credit. They are the REAL HEROES .
IN OUR COUNTRY, THIS UNFORTUNATELY IS THE SAD TALE OF COMMON MAN.
I just request you all to kindly respect them and treat them properly as they too are humans and the treatment practised with them crosses all limits of humanity.
